Pet Vaccines for Life

We understand that your pet is important to you. Just like you need a physical exam every year, so does your pet. Our Pets Vaccines for Life program is designed to be an incentive to remind you to bring your pet in once a year. By having your pet examined once a year, we can diagnose potential health issues before they become a problem, helping your pet to live a longer, happier life.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the program work?

  • There is a one-time enrollment fee of $98 for felines and $119 for our canine patients.
  • Pets enrolling in the Pet Vaccines for Life (PVFL) program must have an annual wellness exam visit at our facility at the time of enrollment and annually to remain in the program (currently $45). This visit cost may not be discounted and is not included in the program.
  • Vaccines that are due at a time other than the annual wellness visit will be charged a technician or brief office visit.
  • A medical waste disposal fee will be charged at each vaccine visit.
  • As long as the enrolled pet’s wellness exam remains current, the CORE vaccines will be included at no charge for the vaccine.

What happens if I miss an annual appointment?

Every year you are required to bring your pet in for an annual wellness exam visit. This visit cost is not discounted or included in the program. If you are unable to make an appointment within 30 days of the exam due date, your pet will be removed from the program. You are always welcome to re-enroll your pet but will be required to pay the enrollment membership fee again.

How often should I bring my pet in for an exam?

One wellness exam each year is required for the program. However, we recommend that puppies and kittens under 4 months of age schedule an appointment every 3-4 weeks, while pets over 7 years should be seen every six months.

Can I take my pet to another vet for their annual exam?

The veterinarians at Elkridge Animal Hospital must examine your pet annually to remain enrolled in the program. By examining your pet each year, we are better able to assess your pet’s overall health and any changes that may need attention.

If my pet comes in for a sick visit around the time of his/her wellness exam, does that visit count toward his/her annual wellness exam?

No. A sick visit does not count toward the annual wellness exam visit.

What if I have to give my pet away? Is the membership transferable?

No. In order to keep the enrollment fee low and cover vaccines for all of our PVFL members, the fee for this program is non-refundable or transferable for any reason.

If I get a new pet, do I need to pay for another membership?

Yes. The membership enrollment is pet specific and only covers the particular pet enrolled for the rest of his/her life with the family who enrolled him/her.

I just got a new puppy/kitten. Does the program cover all of his or her puppy/kitten vaccines?

Yes. All core puppy/kitten vaccines are included in enrollment.  We require for you to follow the recommended vaccine schedule that will be customized for your pet by one of our veterinarians after the initial exam. Puppies and kittens under 4 months of age typically receive an exam every 3-4 weeks. (A brief exam will be charged after the initial wellness exam). If you do not complete the puppy series in a timely manner, your pet will be dropped from the program.

What vaccines are included?

  • Core Canine vaccines: DHPP (annually or triennially), Rabies (annually or triennially), Leptospirosis (annually) & Bordetella (semi-annually)
  • Core Feline vaccines: FVRCP (annually or triennially) & Rabies (annually)

What other services or discounts are included in the package?

All enrolled pets will receive Level 1 Pricing on dental cleanings regardless of the stage of dental disease (extractions or medications are not discounted.)

What vaccines or services are NOT included in the package?

After an exam, our veterinarians will determine which vaccines are recommended for your pet depending on their lifestyle. These non-core vaccines are not covered under the program: Lyme, Canine Influenza and Feline Leukemia. Additional tests may be recommended but not covered including but not limited to heartworm or Feline leukemia/FIV tests, ProHeart injections, fecal screens, flea/tick treatments, and dewormings.

Is the enrollment fee refundable?

No. In order to keep the enrollment fee low and cover vaccines for all of our PVFL members, the fee for this program is non-refundable or transferable for any reason.
