As a new or as an existing client of Elkridge Animal Hospital, you can expect our full attention to the needs of your pet.
When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we’ll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet.
In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet’s medical history, current condition, and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor. The technician will assess if your pet is due for any vaccinations or annual tests based on their medical history and the information you provide. The technician will relay all vital information to the veterinarian so that they are as prepared as possible for examination.
One of our veterinarians will then come into the exam room to introduce themselves and examine your pet, from nose to tail. They may ask you further questions and will make any additional recommendations if needed. This is a great time to ask questions or to bring any concerns regarding your pet to the veterinarian. Our veterinary team wants to make sure you’re completely comfortable with the information we’re providing. If diagnostic tests are required, once we have the results, your doctor will further discuss a possible diagnosis and treatment plan. Depending on the tests required, we could have results within an hour or a few days, but our staff will let you know what to expect.
After the veterinarian has finished their exam and has prescribed any necessary prescriptions, the veterinary technician will likely come back into the exam room to discuss an overview of your appointment. Any payment due for the visit will be taken at this time and your appointment will be complete.
Please note: Our goal is to see all our clients and patients on time, and although we have contingencies for emergencies, there will be times where the unexpected will create delays. We will ensure these are minimized as much as possible and keep you up to date with constant communication.
